Local News Lives Here. We’re Listening.

What does local news look like in your town?
Where do you get information? What’s missing?

We’re taking these questions on the road.

Throughout 2026, publishers, editors, and journalists from across New Hampshire—many of whom were once competitors—are coming together to do something different. Together, we’re stepping outside our newsrooms and into communities for a series of conversations we’re calling the Publisher’s Crawl.

We’re aiming to host conversations in every region of the state. We’ll keep it informal, welcoming—and yes, there will be snacks and a few small prizes. Just as important, we’ll be sharing what we hear after each event so communities across New Hampshire can learn from one another and help shape what comes next for local news in New Hampshire.

Admission is free, but registration is required. Scroll down for more details, or better yet, register now!

Why We’re Doing This

How people get news is changing. A lot.

Maybe you:

  • get updates from social media

  • hear things from friends or neighbors

  • only tune in when something big happens

  • or skip the news altogether

All of that is real—and we want to hear from you.

We’re asking questions like:
👉 Where do you get local information?
👉 What’s missing?
👉 What makes you trust (or not trust) local news?
👉 What would actually get your attention?

Because your perspective helps shape what local news becomes next

What to Expect

Listening Tour gatherings are relaxed, welcoming conversations held in local spaces like breweries, cafés, pizza plaand community centers.

You can expect:

  • Small-group conversations with local publishers and journalists

  • Space to share your experiences (good, bad, or somewhere in between)

  • Snacks!

  • A chance to connect with neighbors and community leaders

No journalism background required. No “right” answers. Just real conversation.

Who Should Attend?

Everyone—especially if local news isn’t really your thing.

If you’ve ever thought:

  • “I don’t really follow local news.”

  • “I can’t find what I need.”

  • “It’s kind of overwhelming.”

  • “I’d pay more attention if it felt relevant.”

This is for you.

Bring a friend. Bring your perspective. Come as you are.

Your experience — whatever it is — matters.

How What You Share Will Be Used

We’re not just listening—we’re doing something with what we hear.

Your ideas, experiences, and feedback will help shape what local news looks like going forward.

What you share can influence:

  • How newsrooms show up in their communities

  • What stories get deeper attention

  • Training for new and emerging journalists

  • How people find (or struggle to find) reliable information

  • Efforts to make local news more accessible and relevant

We’ll share what we learn after each stop so communities across New Hampshire can learn from each other, too.

Listening is where it starts. What happens next is shaped by you.
