Our newest project: Looking at race and equity in N.H.

By Nour Habib, Granite State News Collaborative Engagement Reporter

Announcing a new project

Thank you all for subscribing to the Granite State News Collaborative's newsletter. Today, we are happy to announce that we are embarking on a multiyear reporting project focused on race and equity in the Granite State.

We'll be pooling our resources from the Collaborative's nearly 20 statewide media and community partners to examine a multitude of issues facing people of color in New Hampshire, from economic opportunity to health equity to criminal justice. Looking at possible solutions and examining whether they could work in our communities will be central to our reporting. We'll focus on the people, the policies and the data. And most of all, we'll make sure people of color will be telling their own story.

As the engagement reporter, my job will be to make sure all our communities are participating in this project to the fullest extent they desire. I'll facilitate listening sessions, virtual panel conversations and, when it is safe, in-person events to make sure everyone is heard. I'll ask for your thoughts and feedback on Facebook, on Zoom, on Twitter. And obviously, my email inbox will always be open to you (nour.habib@collaborativenh.org). So tell me what you'd like to see covered, tell me what you think the media usually gets wrong when we cover race. Tell me how you'd like to participate in this project, your project, so that it can be as successful as possible.

Please follow us on our social media accounts linked below and watch your inbox for future installments of this newsletter, This is New Hampshire: Exploring Diversity in the Granite State.

Until next time! -- Nour

About The Granite State News Collaborative

The Granite State News Collaborative is a collective of nearly 20 local media, education and community partners working together to produce and share news stories on the issues that most impact our state. Together we can provide more information to more communities across New Hampshire than we could individually.
